When the crisp morning air gives way to sunny skies and the color-changing leaves, it reminds me to appreciate the beauty of this time of year.
The changing weather requires me to get out my warm cozy sweaters and ditch my sandals until next summer. To get out my long pants and comfy socks. It makes me crave my favorite fall foods including all things pumpkin: cookies, bread, pancakes, and more. I also think of apple cake & butternut squash soup.
Ooh, just thinking about all of that has me feeling warm and cozy!
This time of year also has me thinking about the kids going out Trick or Treating, taking visits to the pumpkin patch and going on hay rides.
With the changes we faced during 2020, we decided to do a little Harvest Party for all the kids in the family since trick or treating was a no go that year. And we have kept it going ever since!
What we do for our Harvest Party is to decorate the house (not too scary or creepy), we offer age-appropriate games for the kids, a costume contest (even the grownups got involved!), candy, popcorn, and maybe even a movie. We got creative and found a new way for us to enjoy this fun time of year.
The beginning of Autumn should remind us all to be thankful for what we do have, even in challenging times. We need to take a moment and count our blessings and learn to be willing to share with others the bounty of whatever it is we have. It could be time, money, love, kindness, or even material things.
Whether you have little or a lot, we ALL have something we can be grateful for. I pray blessings to you and your family this Harvest Season.

Fall is definitely my favorite season! I love pumpkin bread and apple cake also, makes me hungry now haha
I know, right? I had to make cookies after I wrote this. LOL.
There is plenty to be grateful for, and lots we can do to celebrate even with Covid! We can overcome this strange time.
Yes, we can!
It definitely makes me want to do all the baking!!! Love this post x

There is something really cosy and comforting about this time of year, isn’t there? Lovely post, thanks for sharing!
My favourite things about autumn are Halloween and my birthday, especially Halloween, as you can get some good stuff for the home if you’re Goth inclined
