In the bible, Redemption/Redeeming is mentioned numerous times. Either directly by word or indirectly by the actions.
Here are just a few examples:
who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
Galatains 1:4
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us
Galatians 3:13
For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
Hebrews 9:15
It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
1 Corinthians 1:30
When we come into a relationship with Christ, we can know without a doubt that he has REDEEMED us. He has RESTORED, RENEWED, FREED, PAID FOR or MADE UP FOR us in a variety of ways.
Be it personally and/or our lives themselves. Maybe he restored a broken relationship, released us from addiction, renewed a desire we had forgotten about, reformed our hearts and minds.
Whatever it is, I encourage you to take the time to meditate on that while you listen to the song, Redeemed by Big Daddy Weave. Be Blessed!
Redeemed
by Benji Cowart; Mike Weaver
Seems Like All I Can See Was The Struggle
Haunted By Ghosts That Lived In My Past
Bound Up In Shackles Of All My Failures
Wondering How Long Is This Gonna Last
Then You Look At This Prisoner And Say To Me “Son
Stop Fighting A Fight That’s Already Been Won”
I Am Redeemed, You Set Me Free
So I’ll Shake Off Theses Heavy Chains
And Wipe Away Every Stain Now I’m Not Who I Used To Be
I Am Redeemed
I’m Redeemed
All My Life I Have Been Called Unworthy
Named By The Voice Of My Shame And Regret
But When I Hear You Whisper, “Child Lift Up Your Head”
I Remember Oh God, You’re Not Done With Me Yet
I Am Redeemed, You Set Me Free
So I’ll Shake Off Theses Heavy Chains
And Wipe Away Every Stain Now I’m Not Who I Used To Be
Because I Don’t Have To Be The Old Man Inside Of Me
‘Cause His Day Is Long Dead And Gone
Because I’ve Got A New Name, A New Life I’m Not The Same
And A Hope That Will Carry Me Home
I Am Redeemed, You Set Me Free
So I’ll Shake Off Theses Heavy Chains
And Wipe Away Every Stain Now I’m Not Who I Used To Be
I Am Redeemed, You Set Me Free
So I’ll Shake Off Theses Heavy Chains
And Wipe Away Every Stain Now I’m Not Who I Used To Be
Oh God I’m Not Who I Used To Be
Jesus I’m Not Who I Used To Be
‘Cause I Am Redeemed
Thank God, Redeemed
