The Footprints in the Sand poem is one that I heard when I was a child and it always stuck with me. I didn’t realize then, how it would actually play out in my life.
So many of us go through various struggles and trials. I know for me, there have been some times so difficult that I didn’t know if I could make it. I mean, I just didn’t have the physical or emotional strength to do anything. I was in deep pain.
Yet, somehow I made it through. I know it was the Grace of God. It was The Lord who got me through the tough stuff. When I couldn’t walk metaphorically, it was then that He carried me, just as the poem suggests.
Have there been times in your life when you just couldn’t imagine how on earth you would get through it? But yet somehow you did. Whether it was family, friends, or even strangers who somehow stepped in with a word, a deed, or a kindness that gave you the ability to push forward, one step at a time.
Take this time to reflect on your life and see if you, too can see the Hand of God in your life. See if you can recognize the seasons in which He carried you.
