How to Respond When God Says, “Trust Me”

trust or fear

Trust Me.

I keep hearing this statement over and over again lately.  Trust Me. What does that mean? What does it mean to really trust God? I guess I struggle with this concept time and time again.

In my heart I want to trust Him, because I know He loves me and wants what is best for me.  But sometimes it is hard. It reminds me of this internal battle that I have.  I know without a doubt He CAN fix my circumstances. He CAN make things all better. But sometimes He doesn’t.

And the reasons why, I may never know this side of heaven.

But what I do know is that God loves me. I know He has a purpose and a plan for my life, even if I can’t see it right now. I know in my heart that no matter what He is there for me always. Whether our situation improves or if it gets worse, how can we come to the point of truly knowing and trusting in Him?  He tells us in His word that His love never fails.

Trust Me. I will never leave you or forsake you. I will be with you always. No matter what happens in our life we can be sure of one thing, He is there. Right there with us all the way. Even if our situation doesn’t change, we can know we are not alone. His loving arms are open wide and are ready to hold us, if we will only let Him.

The practice of Trusting God, is an enormous part of Finding the Fearless Life.  In order to truly be fearless, we really need to trust God with our whole heart and our whole lives.  Think about it, it also takes the pressure off of us having to fix things.  He is the fixer.  We can trust Him and He will guide us to where we need to go and what we need to do.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths (NKJV)

Think of a situation you have in your life that is causing you concern. Give it to God. Tell Him that you are going to Trust Him to handle this situation. No matter what happens, you know that He loves you and is there with you always. Pray for peace about this and try to let it go.

Trust Him.
